Helping the Orphans

Having been invited to exhibit at Battery World’s National Conference in Fiji this September, Master Instruments was proud to attend and help support the local economy.

But rather than hiring a television for our exhibition display, MI decided to purchase a TV locally from Brijlal in Nadi with a view to then donate this to a local charity. The conference organisers, Cornerstone Events, had already identified The Treasure House Orphanage and were seeking donations of toiletries, cleaning products, baby items etc.

The Treasure House is a child orphanage located in Nadi town in the beautiful Islands of Fiji. Established in 2000 by American missionaries in Ba, it was passed on to local administrators based in Nadi and relocated in November 2007.

It is a home for underprivileged children orphaned through tragic circumstances. Some of them are without one or both parents; some are a result of domestic crisis and violence, some deep poverty, drug, alcohol or sex abuse. Treasure house aims to provide orphans with a stable, loving and permanent home. It serves as a place of safety for children in crisis where they receive 24 hours a daycare.

Treasure House is faith-based and supported firmly by other churches in Fiji and overseas and other partners in the community and relies heavily on donations to care for the children.

At the completion of the Conference, and along with all of the items Cornerstone Events had collected from delegates and suppliers, Master Instruments presented a very delighted Mila from Treasure House with a 55” LED TV. Mila spoke of how her children would be over the moon as they had been without a TV for over 12 months due to the previous one being stolen.

We hope this TV brings the children joy and are very happy that we could help.
